Printed circuit board plating leaves gold behind in its process chemistry: hard gold on connectors and contacts, and immersion gold over nickel (ENIG) on pads. The same metallic-exchange process Metafix uses for silver captures that gold on site, with no added chemicals and no hazardous sludge. When the filters are full, they come back to Metafix for refining, and we pay you for the gold recovered.
Two PCB gold streams
- Hard gold. Plating baths for connectors, contacts and edge fingers.
- Immersion gold (ENIG). Process chemistry from the gold step over nickel on PCB pads.
Other gold-bearing streams, such as jewelry, semiconductor, aerospace and medical-device processes, are assessed one stream at a time.
Built on the MBX-1000
The MBX-1000 is compact at 36″W × 36″D × 48″H. Filter changes are planned from volumetric data with our patented MixExchanger filters.
How recovery is set up
Gold-bearing chemistry passes through the MixExchanger filters, where the metal is captured. Recovery depends mainly on pH and residence time, so we review your chemistry and flow before recommending a setup.
The payout
Recovered gold has value. Spent filters come back to Metafix for refining, and we pay you out for the gold recovered.
Monitored 24/7
Metatrax tracks the volume through each filter and emails your team before a change is due.
Prefer a managed service?
Metafix Metal also buys qualifying gold-bearing chemistry and runs the recovery for you. See Metafix Metal gold recovery.
Who uses it
Electronics and PCB manufacturers, metal finishing shops and aerospace suppliers with gold plating lines.
