Dev Control A new concept in developer reduction
Dev Control specifications Back to Graphic Arts products	Metafix introduces the Dev Control, a realistic solution for developer reduction. Unlike other expensive developer reduction units on the market that do little more than play on the developer's "buffer", the Dev Control, with its advanced automated technology, offers legitimate savings at a reasonable price. Most competitive systems try to extend the developer's life by adding an auxiliary holding tank, thereby increasing the total solution volume. The developer in the holding tank circulates to the processor until it becomes unusable. The tanks is then dumped and filled with fresh developer. This batch and crash system is constantly on a downward trend to exhaustion and can easily fail during critical production. The Dev Control reduces developer usage with its patented film monitoring and replenishment control system. The Dev Control monitors the processor's activity (film use) and is programmed to replenish automatically a combination of fresh and recycled developer. Depending upon the application and the processor's workload, the Dev Control system can reduce developer consumption by up to 70 percent. The more recycled developer called for, the greater the savings. The Dev Control has two replenisher pumps and an onboard holding tank. When called for, pump A replenishes fresh developer from the standard replenisher tank. Pump B replenishes recycled developer from the holding tank containing processor developer overflow. As this solution is being replenished to the processor, it is metered through a 5-micron particle filter and a special MetaDev™ resin filter. The Dev Control also has an anti-ox mode that refreshes the developer tank when the processor is not in use. The Dev Control's unique recording system allows you to print out a record of the processor's activity, detailing the number of films processed and the amount of new and recycled developer used.
