The MetaWool medium in the Metafix MRCs improves cartridge performance significantly, because of the following:

  1. The inert, fiber filling material forces the silver-rich solution to flow in a random pattern, dramatically increasing the efficiency of the iron and virtually eliminating the channeling problem that exists in most commercially available MRCs.
  2. The inert filling material acts as mini-filters and holds the silver particles in place, increasing the efficiency of the iron and the silver recovery capacity of the MRC.
  3. The inert filling material is not consumed by the silver-rich solution. It provides a support for the core of the MRC and prevents the core from collapsing.
  4. Metafix MRCs are manufactured with MetaWool using a special high-pressure system.

All Metafix MRCs are for one-time use. No recoring is required.
