Following are some examples of Metafix MRCs that are in commercial use.

MiX2000P columns are used by Costco Wholesale minilabs in Eastern Canada. Each column processes an average of 3,000 liters (800 gallons) of silver-rich solution and recovers 6.0 to 7.0 kg of silver.

MiX5000 columns are used by Les Pros de la Photo in their Quebec city wholesale photo lab as a primary and a secondary unit. Three columns are configured in parallel with a flow rate through each column at 1 L/min. The silver-rich solution processed by each column is 6,500 to 7,000 liters (1,700 to 1,800 gallons) and the silver recovered by each column is 12 to 15 kg. The effluent silver concentration is less than 5 ppm throughout the life of the column.

MiX5000 columns are also used by Les Pros de la Photo in their main photo lab in Montreal. Here they are used for secondary silver recovery following an electrolytic system. Four columns are configured in parallel with a flow rate through each column of 1 L/min. The volume of the silver-rich solution processed by each column is 17,000 to 21,000 liters (4,500 to 5,500 gallons) when the influent silver level is approximately 200 ppm. The effluent silver concentration is less than 5 ppm throughout the life of the column.

Oliver columns are used by Champion Photochemistry, an Ontario chemical manufacturer that supplies photo processing chemicals and collects waste silver-rich solutions. Champion uses two Oliver columns in parallel as a primary and a secondary unit to desilver 2,400 gallon batches of silver-rich solution at a flow rate of 10 L/min (2.6 gallons/min). The average silver recovered by each column is 15 kg.

California-based Photo Waste Recycling also uses the Oliver columns to desilver waste photographic solutions collected from customers. With the Olivers as a secondary system, this company is able to achieve 2.5 times the flow rate of their previous system while maintaining silver levels well below 1 ppm.
